Verde Landscape's training program makes a deep investment in each Crew Member. Crew Members receive training free-of-charge, and earn normal wages for time spent in training. Verde Landscape's training consists of On-The-Job Training and Off-Season Classroom.

On-The-Job Training

Crew Members learn on the job, supervised by Verde Landscape foreman or by contracted foreman from landscape contractor partners. Crew Members also learn by working alongside crews from landscape contractor partners.

Off-season Classroom Training

Verde Landscape concentrates crew training during the landscape industry's slow seasons. Concentrated off-season training allows Verde Landscape to keep Crew Members employed through the off-season, when some for-profit landscapers layoff non-regular/temporary crew members until the busy season. Verde Landscape's Program Manager develops the following individual and group training sessions:

• Job Safety.
• Herbicide Licensing.
• Landscape Contractor Licensing.
• English-As-A-Second-Language/ESL.
• Basic Computer Skills.
