Living Cully Program Manager

Luis Velasco serves as Verde’s Program Manager for the Living Cully Coalition, collaborating with Living Cully Partners to prevent displacement and preserve and expand opportunities for low-income people of color in the Cully neighborhood.

They’re a queer & Xicanx strategist with years of experience in community organizing, fundraising, and non-profit consulting. Luis was born in Oregon but raised in Colima, Mexico, and several other farmworker fields along the West Coast. From an early age, Luis worked as a farmworker, where they were first introduced to organizing while picking cherries and hearing about a worker's rights march. Outside of the office, they like to cook elaborate meals from their hometown and like to wear matching PJs with their pup, Ricky.
