Water Justice Coordinator
Rose (she/her) is a Filipina, mother, and woman in love with the environment. She enjoys working collaboratively on issues involving the health and well-being of people and the environment. While applying an environmental justice, racial justice, and community-centered lens, she works with Water on issues that intersect with public and environmental health. Rose strives to carefully work through environmental conflicts to help bring people together to work collaboratively to imagine and take action toward a shared vision that creates just and equitable futures for all.
Rose graduated from the University of Oregon School of Law with a focus on water and environmental conflicts, earning an MS in Conflict and Dispute Resolution. Before earning her MS, she worked in the healthcare field for several years before earning her Oregon nursing license in 2011.
Rose eagerly anticipates the upcoming Water Justice Leadership Institute (WJLI) and the launch of its second session in the coming year. She remains dedicated to advocating for environmental and racial justice within her community. Seeing Verde flourish and nurturing positive relationships with environmental and social justice colleagues fills her with joy. Rose's unwavering commitment to learning and deepening her connection with water inspires others to do the same. Rose's interests and hobbies are diverse and include running, learning, solving puzzles, immersing herself in water, exploring plants and nature, traveling, dancing, and enjoying stand-up comedy.
